Hello Everyone! The MBLCA has new designs and apparel/products to pick from this year! You can order now through June 12th, check it out! (As a reminder, this is also a fundraiser for the MBLCA, so you get cool new lake stuff and can help out the lake as a bonus!) I was told orders will be back in 3-5 weeks after the deadline so anticipated pick up will be sometime between July 4-22. Order Here: https://probitasstore.com/brushlake/
Clean-up for Brush Lake is set for June 16-28, a roll off will be placed in the parking lot by the Pavilion. The roll off is for Brush Lake cabin owners to dispose of large items that won’t normally fit in a regular dumpster. NOT ALLOWED: Trees, branches, wood, grass clippings, household hazardous waste (pesticides, paints, thinners, etc.), fluorescent bulbs, propane tanks, refrigerators or freezers, televisions or other large electronics, tires, batteries, mattresses, cars, or motorcycles. If any of the above are found, we WILL be charged extra. Just be smart and be kind. Thanks!
Kids (and adults too) dig out those costumes!Adults stock up on treats, park your lawn chairs at the road side of your cabins and socialize with your lake community!Balloons will be available at the Shore this weekend and next to hang roadside to mark your cabin as participating or decorate your cabin for Halloween.Trick or Treaters (and parents), make your way around the lake carefully. There may be lots of kids capitalizing on free candy
Kids, join us for some rock painting fun at the Pavilion! All supplies will be provided except the rocks. If you are having trouble finding rocks I’m sure your friends on the north side of the lake can help you out 🙂 (Adults are welcome too!!)
The MBLCA went through the process of interviewing potential Pavilion candidates. The talent and ideas presented were amazing and the Brush Lake community would have been lucky to have either of the candidates. In an MBLCA special session held on Monday, October 11, the association chose Rose Becker as the future Pavilion vendor through a majority vote. Rose grew up in Butte and graduated in 1999. She worked at the Shore for 3 summers and has also worked at Famous Daves, Old 10 and way back in the day at Houlihans.
Rose is married to Scott Becker and together they have 5 children- Ethan (23), Dylan (20), Seth (18), Tara (6), and Morgan (5). They have 2 dogs Quinn (German Short hair) and Rip (English pointer/Springer). She lives in Bismarck and has worked at Scheels for 2 years and was voted Cashier of the Year for 2020. Rose loves reading, watching historical movies, hunting, cooking, baking, gardening, and working cows. She also loves talking to and meeting new people, but hates public speaking. Rose stated that she is very excited to be able to have another fun summer with the great people at Brush Lake!! As the new lessee, she has presented several great new ideas to the board; we are excited to see her vision come to fruition.
The Mercer Brush Lake Community Association seeks an operator of its restaurant and bar located in the Brush Lake Pavilion on beautiful Brush Lake for the 2022 summer season. Brush Lake is located 2 miles North of Mercer North Dakota and is home to over 170 cabin owners. The Pavilion features a full service bar and restaurant. A written proposal should include the following:
1. A vision for this tenured establishment including menu ideas, hours of operation and strategies for maximizing service to the lake community.
2. A plan to staff the facility in rural North Dakota
3. A marketing plan
4. A solid fiscal plan to execute all of the above
Please mail your response to Brush Lake Pavilion RFP PO Box 84 Mercer, ND 58559. You may also email your response to: Katiefiechtner@gmail.com
